NO. No, you don't get it. I haven't been to a dentist in two years, and when I went, it was the first time I had gone in about ten years. I FUCKING HATE DENTISTS. I have three broken teeth, one of which gives me no problems any more, and two of which I'm waiting to just... come out, I guess. I considered sedation dentistry, but that's crazy expensive and I'm not sure my insurance covers it (and quite frankly, if it was something life threatening/dangerous, obviously I'd go (like I went when I had an infection to get medication for it), but the last time I was at a dentist, it was all about fucking cosmetic bullshit, they wanted to give me a fucking root canal to save half a fucking tooth... then when I was like, no way, they said, oh, well, we can pull it and then put in a dental implant in your jawbone so your teth don't ~drift~ and I was like, why the FUCK would I care if my teeth ~drift~ when you people wanted to put in SPACERS for me when I was a teenager???)
....WOW, ok. Sorry about that. Every time I go to the dentist, I have a panic attack/biting incident/came-AWFULLY-close-to-puking incident, so unless I have an infection and need antibiotics (because like I said, I don't want things festering, I just don't want their fucking hands in my fucking mouth), I won't go.

So this is the only picture this round that I actually TOOK. This is from the Believe in Sherlock Boston meet-up in March. Obviously I love Sherlock, but beyond that, I love meet-ups -- I love meeting people with my unique, niche interests, people who tend to be of the same personality type as me, even if we don't become OOH, BFFs!!!, it's nice to have a touchstone where we can get together for an activity and have a fun time pursuing said activity, you know?? Also, meetups are the one, consistent scenario where my social anxiety is not at the forefront, because I function really well in social situations where there is a defined purpose and I have a clear role, and meetups are one of those scenarios.

THE DECEMBERISTS. They have the distinct honor of being one of the only bands who have put out MORE than one album that I can play straight through and love EVERY SINGLE SONG (Her Majesty and Picaresque, btw). I've kind of fallen behind, ever since The Hazards of Love, but I still love their old stuff, and I listen to their new songs whenever I come across them (not having the money/resources to buy music, and most file-sharing sites being shut down has contributed signifigantly to this, btw).

Used Book Superstore; ours in the Salem, NH branch. LOVE this place. Ridiculous selection of used books, most of them under $3.50, and they have crazy deals all the time - last time I went I bought a book about young girls and body image and two books (including a hardcover) by Augusten Burroughs and paid $5.

Finally complete and publish... something. I'd say a novel, but I'm really not the novelling type (even though I have fun playing at it every year). I've slacked off big time when it comes to my writing, but I remain hopeful (ever hopeful) and do have some little ideas for stories bubbling in my brain... commiting them to paper in the challenging bit, but eventually... eventually.

Heh. Every doctor I've ever been to has some sort of notation like this in my chart. ("I see here you're a gagger." "*sigh* Why do you do this? I'm not scary.") But I think it's more common than you think because they have a procedure to deal with neurotic patients -- I usually just get a cup of water after the exam and then someone talks to me until my pulse goes down enough that they won't be guilty of malpractice if I leave the property. Still have to go even if I don't like it, although frankly finding a Boston dentist I can afford has been something of a pain in the ass and I haven't tried hard enough to go in the past few years. Ah, adulthood.

And yes! Publish something =D
