afterallthistime: (what's my perversion?)
Kind of random fandom Friday, I guess. No overarching theme this week aside from slash (oh, always; lots and lots of slash). What have I been looking at or reading this week??

Doctor Molly, by porpoise_song at AO3. Perhaps not excitingly named, but I love the concept: what if Molly Hooper was taken for the Doctor's (yes, it's a Doctor Who crossover) new companion? I love Molly, and I love the story thus far (it's six chapter so far, I believe, but I have only just finished Chapter 3). This is NOT SLASH, surprisingly enough. I know, rare for me, even RARER for me in this fandom.

The Syntax of Things, by what_alchemy at AO3. One of my favorite, favorite tropes in Sherlock fandom, Sherlock as transgendered (FtM). This one is very well-done, different, with a lovely and complex relationship written between Sherlock and Mycroft. This one is Sherlock/John.

Once More With Feeling, by [livejournal.com profile] red_carrigan. Sherlock/John. Light fare, very cute. After reading so, so many "John meets The Holmeses" fics, it's refreshing to read "Sherlock Meets the Watsons," and even nicer that John has a happy home life in this one (everyone seems to assume his home life was miserable...?)

A Far Distant Star, by [livejournal.com profile] icarus_chained. TNG, Picard/Q. Angsty and schmoopy, and a little too fluffy (I don't do fluff, usually), but still enjoyable. One of the few P/Q I've found that isn't hardcore porn (though it anyone wants hardcore porn, I can provide) and considering this was written when the author, as far as I can surmise, was a teenager, this is pretty damn good (I remember - hell, I read through, since it's still on archive.org - some of my old fic and cringe).

Sanity, by Tiggy Malvern. TNG, Picard/Q. Pre-slash, well-written, setting things up for an NC-17 sequel, but I actually really like it as a stand-alone; as most of you know, I'm not fond of established relationship fic involving non-canonical couples; I prefer the build-up, the prelude, the possibilities. And I ♥ ambiguity.

Also, fandom-related, did anyone see the Doctor Who homage on Community last night? Inspector Spacetime? So awesome. So happy that NBC Thursday programming is back.
