I spent yesterday with my in-laws, which was nice; we got to chat with my father-in-law for a while, had a nice, Mediterranean-inspired dinner at the Common House, and got to play a few games of Dominion with Piper and a couple of the other Camelot residents. As a result, I got out of the house and got to do things, but wasn't able to post about other things that I'd like to do. Which is a trade off where I come out ahead, really. But. I do want try to keep this more or less daily, and I want especially to keep myself honest when it comes to my goals.
Speaking of, re: last weeks goals. Um, "complete and utter failure" would probably be the best descriptor, though not the most elegant? It was a bust, guys. I literally did nothing I set out to do. I've been in a funk the last few weeks, though, and I don't really know why I thought one week of posting my goals would suddenly remedy this, but (surprise, surprise) it didn't.
HOWEVER. Optimism. Perseverance. Other qualities I am lacking. These are the things needed to be successful in life. So, onward and upward; let's try this again.
1.) READ GAME OF THRONES, GODDAMNIT. I can zip through 800 page books in two days if I just sit down and read during the time I'd normally be online. Seriously. I've done it a hundred times before. Especially if the book is good (as this one is). I just need to focus. WHEN DID RECREATIONAL READING BECOME THIS HARD???
2.) Do some more writing. I actually did get some writing done last week, so I suppose that I should mention that. But I'd like to finish something this week, and maybe even get it into the beta-reading stage.
3.) Clean my damn house. TONIGHT. It's cool and rainy and dark here, at 3:30 in the afternoon, and for some reason, it makes me really WANT to clean. It's like I can feel summer dying around me, and I need to get things in order before it's too late.
4.) Laundry. Usually do it on Sunday, it was the casualty of not being home yesterday. I was legitimately doing other things, so I don't/won't feel too badly about this, so long as I get it done today.
5.) Start penpalling again. I recently posted up ads on
snailmail and
penpals, and hope to start writing to some interested parties tomorrow. I really enjoy letter writing, but I've not been able to sustain a penpal for longer than a few months lately. It's been over a year since I've given it a shot, though, and I'd like to try again.
6.) Something recreational, TBD. It's so hard, lately, with money-issues, weather, and Andy's schedule all coming together to create a clusterfuck of sheer inconvenience.
7.) GYM. Enough said. Not today, though, as I don't feel like walking back and forth in the endless rain, but if I am in fact going to really POWER CLEAN the house tonight, I can honestly say that should be plenty of exercise in the interim.
I suppose that's it. I'm going to finish up my on-line business and then get started on Goal 1 (which is actually Goal 3 on this list). Perhaps if I have more time, I will put up a normal Media post today, as well.
