Early Fandom Friday

Avengers edition. Um, Thorki edition, more specifically. This is what I've recently read and loved, and what I am currently reading.

The Hope Only of Empty Men, by Clarice Chiara Sorcha @ AO3. Described as "cracky angst," and with good reason, it is nont-the-less beautifully, painfully written. Medical experimentation, trigger warnings (miscarriage), mpreg, some dub-con. So good, though. Author summary: In order to do the right thing, sometimes you must take the wrong and twist it around to make it seem like it never was anything of the sort. But in the end, the road to Hell always has been paved with the best of intentions. Thor/Loki.

Revelations, by astolat @ AO3. Just started reading this, but already, it's so in character, and well done, with an intriguing premise. Thor/Loki, Tony/Pepper. Told from alternating POVs among the Avengers. Also, a WIP. Author summary: When Thor fell, everything trembled.

The Fools We Are as Men, by Clarice Chiara Sorcha @ AO3. Also just started this. Thor/Loki. Pseudo-incest (obviously), non/dub-con, violence. If her other story is any indication, this one should be well-written and fucking heartbreaking. From a prompt at norsekink, Thor, Loki, the Warriors Three and Sif are captured, Loki uses his body as a bargaining chip to obtain more food, blankets, etc. for everyone, and says nothing of it.

On My Knees (Fighting You to My Dying Breath), by OneWhoSitswithTurtles @ AO3. Almost 30k words, posted as one chapter (GAH), I'm about halfway through it. Aside from pseudo-incest, no real warnings to speak of. Author summary: Thor and Loki return to Asgard, where Thor binds his life to Loki’s to save his brother from imprisonment or worse. Loki fights him with every breath until Loki realizes that Thor might mean more to him than he ever expected.

Reply to comments and such tomorrow; I'm either going out with Raeann, or my brother tomorrow night (don't know yet), and Saturday hopefully will be nice weather and maybe I'll see some people or at least get to the gym, goddamn it.

But for now -- Facebook, Tumblr, smutty pseduo-incestuous Norse porn, rum 'n Coke, and bed.
