Can people "ship" with books? Because Katchoo/Francine, Jane/Rochester, and Margaret Hale/John Thornton would probably be my top three.

For tv: Ian/Barbara (first ship ever, I don't think I knew what a ship was when I shipped that), TOS Spock/Uhura (because they were both musicians or something and they were both hot -- I was 12), Mulder/Scully, Skinner/Scully, Beverly/Picard (I think I just wanted them to do something with Beverly, she was a great character who never had anything real to do and there's always room for Patrick Stewart to be hot), Kira/Odo, Kira/anyone except Shakar or Vedek Boring, because Kira is awesome but most of her boyfriends weren't.

As for triads, this is tired but: Garak/Bashir or Garak/Bashir/O'Brien, because they were all adorable together.

You can totally ship books.

I think (and this is TOTALLY a "your milegae may vary" situation) that was *I* talk about "shipping," I mean pairings I'm devoted to fandworks for - I read meta, look at art, read fic, etc. Because if it's just pairings I love, hey, I could go on all *day.* But I tend to read/participate in a pretty small smattering of pairings/fandoms at once.

If it was just a list of couples I really like, actually, Katchoo/Francine would probably have made the list.

My shipping, as you can probably tell, usually resulted because I thought the "official" way the story was told seriously missed opportunities. Which is why Laura / Remington Steele wasn't on the list -- the story was told perfectly in the first two seasons and the last three seasons are just dead to me, :-) Fandom isn't really my thing except on the most shallow level, though, so I was wondering if there was a more official version.
